Our Horses
Here at Back in the Saddle, we LOVE our horses!
They are a well cared for group receiving regular visits from our:
- Farrier (a person who shoes horses for those not in the know)
- Vet (for checkups and minor ailments)
- Treat Giver (aka. anyone who happens to have food like carrots or apples)
During the high season that takes place between May to October, we split the herd into 2 or 3 groups and use them on a rotating schedule. That way every horse gets days off and not one of them gets used too much.
When our horses aren’t being used, instead of keeping them in barns or in small enclosures, we release them all into a large field full of grass. This way they have the ability to roam free and can act like horses.
We also know that our customers LOVE our horses!
Our customers form special bonds with the horses they ride because our horses don’t just follow nose to tail on the rides. They are trained to do what you ask them, when you ask them and it makes all the difference. If you come for a ride with us you will get to experience the different “personalities” our horses have.
